Roamer 1 is approaching retirement and is being replaced by Roamer X. For more information, see Roamer End of Life and Migration to Roamer X.
As the IBSS solution continues to evolve, new features are being developed for Roamer X and will not be supported in Roamer 1. From IBSS version 2026.01 onwards, customers who continue to use Roamer 1 should therefore be aware that some new functionality will not be available and some existing behaviour may also change.
New features are not supported in Roamer 1
Features introduced in IBSS version 2026.01 and subsequent releases are not expected to be supported in Roamer 1. Examples include:
- Workplace Schedules
- Team Bookings
- Events
- Further functionality introduced in the following IBSS releases
Customers who require access to these capabilities should plan to migrate their users to Roamer X.
Known compatibility considerations in IBSS 2026.01
The following scenarios are known to affect Roamer 1 when used with IBSS 2026.01.
Quicklinks
If Quicklinks are configured after upgrading to IBSS 2026.01, they will appear within the KPI section of Roamer 1. However, these links are not supported by Roamer 1 and will not function correctly.
Recommendation: Customers still using Roamer 1 should avoid configuring Quicklinks until all users have migrated to Roamer X.
KPI navigation
Some KPI tile configurations may no longer navigate correctly in Roamer 1.
This primarily affects KPI links that direct users to an intermediate page before displaying search results. KPI links that take users directly to the search results list or map continue to provide the expected Roamer 1 experience.
Recommendation: Review KPI tile links used by Roamer 1 and, where required, update them so that they navigate directly to the appropriate search results page or map rather than through an intermediate page.
Early checkout
When a user manually checks out of a booking before its scheduled end time, the booking will continue to appear in the What's Next section of the Roamer 1 homepage until the original booking end time is reached.
For example, if a booking is scheduled from 10:00 to 11:00 and the user checks out at 10:30, the booking will continue to appear in What's Next until 11:00.
This behaviour is specific to Roamer 1 compatibility with the newer IBSS platform and does not indicate that the checkout itself has failed.
Recommended action
Customers upgrading to IBSS version 2026.01 who still have active Roamer 1 users should review their current configuration and consider the compatibility points described above.
Roamer 1 will receive increasingly limited compatibility with newer IBSS functionality. Customers are therefore encouraged to complete their migration to Roamer X to ensure continued access to new features, improvements and supported user experiences.
