What is a Linked Space?

Linked spaces in IBSS is the term for bookable spaces that can "linked" together into a single booking. These spaces typically have foldable partitions, allowing the spaces to be laid out in multiple ways.

Finding a Linked Space

Spaces that can be linked to other spaces and have multiple space layout options will be shown with additional icons in the search results and space information pages. The "A/B" icon denotes that the space has multiple layout options available whilst the "Chain" icon denotes the space can be linked to other spaces.

The structured search pages in Roamer also provide the option to search for linked spaces.

Booking a Linked Space

When booking the linked space, additional sections are made available in the Booking Summary Page, enabling the user to select a specific combination of spaces. Depending on the combination selected, the user may also be provided with different space layout options.

When bookings are made with these options, they are also denoted in the "My Bookings" page to highlight which bookings have custom layouts or are linked space bookings.

Setup Considerations

The following considerations should be noted when configuring linked spaces

  • The minimum booking duration of all the linked spaces should match.
  • The maximum booking duration of all the linked spaces should match.
  • The auto-cancellation period of all the linked spaces should match.
  • The early check-in period of all the linked spaces should match.
  • The floor of all the linked spaces should match.
  • The Space Class of all the linked spaces should match.

Required Permissions

The following permissions are required for the user role in order to book a linked space

  • BookLinkedSpaceWork - allows the user to book linked spaces which belong to the Work Class.
  • BookLinkedSpaceSupport - allows the user to book linked spaces which belong to the Support Class.
  • BookLinkedSpaceAmenity - allows the user to book linked spaces which belong to the Amenity Class.
