New features available in Roamer X
As of Release 3.10 for Roamer X

Quick links or Signposts can be created to signpost your organisation to designated third-party apps and websites. You can set different links for Android and iOS mobile phone users.
-
Single or multiple catering orders
Users can create catering orders for confirmed space booking provided that the booking time is falls within the catering cut-off time, meaning there’s enough time to prepare and deliver the order. Organisations that enable the API.Catering.MultipleOrders permission can allow users to create multiple catering orders for a single booking.
-
Mobile Device Management and Mobile Application Management
Roamer X can be managed in Microsoft Intune and set to read your organisational Intune application protection policies.
Organisations can define management and protection policies for Roamer X on corporate and/or personal devices, including:- Ability to install Roamer X or configure app settings
- Being forced to use the Authenticator app for login
- Having Roamer X blocked on certain devices
- Ability to copy and paste from or to Roamer X
-
Mobile Security Credentials
Roamer X supports the use of Security Passes and stores them directly within the app
Users can use their mobile phones to tap at access line readers to open access points without the need for a separate pass
It will require appropriate access control system set up for Mobile credential readers and mobile credential cloud management. Roamer X currently supports the following mobile credential providers:- HID
- Salto JustIn
- Gallagher (excluding card-based access solutions)
- (with Tapkey integration planned in future releases)
- HID

Security Pass Validation on Launch
For organisations where the security passes are enabled, we now check for stored security passes on the app launch.
-
Series Desk Bookings
Users can create recurring desk bookings or a series of bookings that do not follow a fixed recurrence pattern.
-
Visitor Types
Different visitor types such as a corporate guest or maintenance contractor, can have unique workflows to capture information or acceptance on visitor check-in, for example, the form of transport used to get to the building or agreement to a privacy policy. The visitor can either complete this on the Guest tablet app or reception staff complete this on OneLens360.
-
Signify Lighting Indoor Positioning
We've added the Signify SDK to the app. Now, the customers that are using a Signify lighting system and have a connector from IBSS deployed, they can gain the “blue dot“ indoor positioning on the Roamer X building maps for improved indoor navigation and wayfinding. -
Native BLE Indoor Positioning
In Release 2026.01 of the IBSS Solution, we added the ability to configure the UID and position of any BLE beacons within your buildings. And, subject to appropriate beacon installation density, Roamer X can use this data to provide “blue dot“ indoor positioning on the Roamer X building maps. -
Adding images to service requests
IBSS Release R2026.02 supports the ability to upload or add images to service requests. Think of the situation of a coffee spill, and being able to snap a photo to send to the service team with the request. Roamer X supports the ability to use the mobile devices camera to take that image and upload it with the request. -
Searching and booking a desk nearby for a colleague
From your existing booking, you can use the feature “Make a booking nearby for others”. Then Roamer X shows the closest available spaces to where you’re booked.
What’s different to Roamer 1
-
Simplified booking management navigation
Space page is now combined with the booking page into one dynamic page to view space information and create a booking. -
2-step booking process
In Roamer X, we create a booking first with reduced requirements to fill in details. This is done to be able to book immediately. After the booking is created, we can tailor the booking (add details or extras like catering) either straight away or later.
Notes to consider before transitioning to Roamer X
For organisations that plan transitioning, the following items need to be handled for Roamer X:
-
KPI tiles images will need to be updated for Roamer X
Images that were used for KPI tiles in Roamer 1 will need to be updated or revised if they are properly displayed in Roamer X. -
Roamer X now displays Signposts
Signposts are quick links to relatable information to the building, such as a restaurant menu. If you want to add quick links to Roamer X, read more about configuring here Setting up Quick Links or Dynamic Shortcut under Signposts in Admin Portal. -
Roamer X can be added to managed apps in Microsoft Intune
Read more here: Roamer X managed in Microsoft Intune.
Feature that is no longer present in Roamer X comparing to Roamer 1
In Roamer 1, users were able to reorder home page sections under User Preferences > Home Page Settings. We’ve removed this capability in Roamer X at this stage, as the home page structuring has been carefully laid out for optimal usability.
