The Visitor Types page in Admin Portal is one of the pieces to get visitor management working in your organisation.Â
When setting up as many visitor type as needed, consider the following recommendations:
- Use meaningful names for visitor types as your colleagues won't know what questions do you ask their visitors. For example: Delivery, Consultant.
- If your organisation is not using the IBSS Guest app for visitors to check in independently and answer the questions that you have for them, then they will have to answer those questions at the reception. Define the most necessary questions for building entry in any scenario.
- Visitor type description is visible for the reference only to the users that have access to the Visitor Types page in Admin Portal.
Setting up a Visitor Type
To set up a visitor type for a specific building:
- Open the Visitor Types page in Admin Portal.
- Ensure that the correct building is selected in the main menu.
- Click the Create new visitor type button.
- Fill in the visitor type form that opens:

Visitor type consists of:
- Visitor type name
- Visitor type description
- Image
- Steps
- Questions within each step
After you fill in all fields as required, your organisation will have this visitor type option in the dropdown when they create a visitor record. Then, visitors will receive their questions according to their visitor type at the reception or when checking into the building using Guest app on tablets.
